Hyalite opal from the Spruce Pine District of western North Carolina is said to be the most highly fluorescent mineral in the world, as you can see in the 2nd photo above taken under short wave ultraviolet light. The dimensions of this rock are 4" long by 2" wide by 3" thick with a weight of 1-1/4 pounds.
