This monster rutile specimen was collected many years ago at world-famous Graves Mountain in Lincoln County, Georgia. The dimensions of the large specimen are 4-1/2" long by 3-1/2" with a weight of 4 pounds. As you can see from the pictures, there is virtually no man-made damage to the near perfectly formed crystal - just an attachment point on its base and another on one of its sides where it came into contact with the meta-volcanic country rock. You would be hard-pressed to find a rutile crystal of this size and quality for sale anywhere and the asking price is VERY LOW as it is a must-sell for my in-laws. |
