Went to a fav beach of mine collecting today, took some photos, took even more rocks.

Deerlick beach, Nuke power plant in background. Deerlick creek epmties into Lake MI here

Looking towards South Haven MI, notice lighthouse in background. Also interesting limestone boulders now found on right. going to have to check them out....

beach full of pretties, looking for Septarian Nodules. Plan on cutting some...

This is what I'm looking for, size is 6 inches

Nice red one, finding a lot of them now further down the beach.

First one I cut, not very pretty! hmmm....

yepper!!! that's what I'm looking for!!!

I noticed that looking towards South Haven there were new 1 and 2 ton boulders to keep bank from washing out, first one I see had a laker sticking out of it! WOW, there's fluorite on here too! Have to look the limestone over better, forgeting the Sep's now!!!

Close up of fluor through loupe..

WOW a 6 inch vug of calcite sticking out of one of the rocks, how stupid of me not to bring a hammer and chisel, I though I was beach walking not hard rock mining. I took a photo instead of taking this 400 lb rock home....I know our good friend Mike S. would have slung this beaut over his back and humped it out!

OH MY! neat pyrite xls, some strange mods here

WHAT A DAY!!! Look at this pyrite!!!The Rock Gods are smiling on me today!!

nice xls!!!

I'm going to have to find what quarry this limestone came from, wrote down the place that was improving the land, Hope it's close, I want to go to this quarry!!!!!! I plan on heading back out to this location with hammer and chisel in hand, going to find bigger Fluorite xls! What a Sunday it was for collecting!!!!
