The Theic-Rheic Ocean is a body of water that probably existed between the island arc terrane and the African continent and tectonic pate during the late Precambrian and early Paleozoic prior to the formation of Pangea. Pangea is the term for the "supercontinent" that formed when most of the Earth's continents converged to form a single land mass near the end of the Permian Period.
