Our plan for Sunday was simple: we were to break camp and drive home. Yep, that was the plan . . . but, naturally it changed . . .

On our way, we were doing our usual looking at every road cut as we drove by at 60+ mph when we spotted the tell tale signs of mineralization in one. Having done this many times before, I didn't expect much when we stopped to take a closer look, but boy was I surprised!!!!! There were geode/vugs full of an assortment of different minerals, especially calcite in different habits and colors. Trying to stick to the original plan and to please a tired and cold Chrissy, I spent only a couple hours collecting at this brand new spot, but was able to retrieve some very nice specimens.

We finally made it home, a little bit later than originally expected but, as you have seen above, with lots of goodies to show for our tardiness. Just another not-so-relaxing Streeter holiday!
