We left Dowagiac Michigan to start our adventure on Saturday morning June 21st. Our plan was to drive down and meet Katie and Stan Walters at Harrodsburg Indiana for their first geode hunt at the Harrodsburg highway 37 road cut. Before this trip I had been talking to Bob Harman about Harrodsburg geode inclusions, he would also be meeting us there to ID some pieces that I found on a previous trip to Harrodsburg. A good friend of ours from NC had been to the road cut just a few days previous to us and had emailed me to ask to pick up a box of specimens he had dug from the road cut that had fallen off his truck. After retrieval of his pieces, which unfortunately were ran over by an unknown vehicle, we met up with Katie and Stan.

I walked over and talked with Bob who was busy hunting on the north bound lane and finding some nice pieces. He confirmed the crystals in question that I had collected on a previous trip were indeed selenite crystals. We drove down to the parking area and proceeded up to the second bench which seems to hold the best mineralization.
After about two hours hunting on the bench we all had some nice pieces to take home with us. Katie and Stan decided to leave as an impending storm approached. Mother and I decided to check some other cuts in the general area. We found some nice pieces including dolomite and Baryte crystals.
