This specimen of actinolite in talc was collected from an abandoned hard-to-get-to talc mine in Madison County, North Carolina. As you can see from the pictures, deep green actinolite make up most of the rock as flattened prismatic and elongated crystals with dome-like terminations. The dimensions of the specimen are 6" long by 3" wide by 1-1/4" thick with a weight of 1/2 pound. |
