This specimen is made up of purple fluorite crystals with white barite "balls" and micro limonite after pyrite on a limestone breccia matrix. This specimen was collected at a long-ago abandoned mine in east Tennessee that is no longer open to collectors. The combination of minerals is very rare, making this specimen a special collector's piece. The dimensions of the specimen are 6-1/2" long by 4-1/2" wide and the largest fluorite cube is around 1/2" inch wide. I can assure you that one would be hard pressed to find a similar specimen for sale anywhere else.

Ok, now we're talking - this incredible piece is composed translucent purple fluorite crystals with a smattering of yellow greenockite-included smithsonite "balls". While greenockite, smithsonite and fluorite are hardly rare at this locality, having them all appear in a single specimen, especially with greenockite including smithsonite, and the excellent condition make this a real goodun. This rock was collected at the Eureka Mine near Marion in western Kentucky. The dimensions of the specimen are 6" long by 3" wide by 4" high with a weight of 3-3/4 pounds.
